HCM City confiscates illegally-imported guns

Local authorities in Ho Chi Minh City on November 2 decided to confiscate a large amount of guns illegally transported to Vietnam, said the Customs Office of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

In July 2015, the office worked with the Economic Security Department (A85) and relevant agencies under the Ministry of Public Security to examine three parcels without legal documents on a flight from Turkey to Tan Son Nhat Airport.

After examination, the agencies discovered 94 pistols with laser sights and 472 new cartridge belts along with other components, which were hidden as normal cargo.

The weapons were made in the Czech Republic.
