Mr Dung, who is on a current visit to Uzbekistan, told President Islam Karimov that the Vietnamese Government will create favourable conditions for Uzbekistani businesses to invest in Vietnam.  

He asked the President to further support and facilitate Vietnamese business activities in Uzbekistan, particularly in oil and gas exploration and exploitation, agroforestry and fishery products, garment and textiles, footwear and cotton. 

He briefed his host on his earlier talks with Uzbekistani PM Shavkat Mirziyoyev and proposed that the two countries increase the exchange of delegations at all levels to promote mutual understanding and cooperation. 

President Islam Karimov welcomed the results of the high-level talks between the two PMs, which he said would make an important contribution to enhancing the traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between Vietnam and Uzbekistan. 

He spoke highly of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group’s effective operations in his country and confirmed his support for bilateral cooperation in the field. 

At a meeting with Chairman of the Senate Ilgizar Sobirov, Mr Dung expressed his hope that the two parliaments will increase the exchange of experiences in law-making activities and provide necessary legal assistance to boost the implementation of signed agreements, especially in the areas of economics, trade, investment, culture, sports, tourism, education and training.

For his part, Senate Chairman Sobirov proposed the two countries increase cooperation in trade and investment, facilitate the operation of each other’s businesses, and support their export-import activities. He pledged favourable conditions for the two sides to implement signed agreements. 

The same day, PM Dung received President of the Uzbekistan-Vietnam Friendship Association Tursunali Kuziev and representatives of the Russian Oil and Gas Group. He laid a wreath at the Independence and Humanity Monument in Tashkent.
