Vietnam expects to complete the restructuring of State-owned enterprises (SoEs) in accordance with the Enterprise Law by 2009, according to the Committee for Reform & Development of SoEs.
The reform and restructuring of SoEs will ensure sectoral and territorial links, thus helping to establish 10-20 powerful economic groups. Corporation No. 90 will have 50-60 enterprises operating under the parent-subsidiary company model.
After the reform and restructuring process, corporations and economic groups will follow multi-sectoral, multi-ownership and multi-national models. Nearly 1,000 wholly State-invested limited companies will belong to economic groups and corporations, 50 percent of which are in the fields of national security and defence.
