Prospects for Vietnam-Sweden cooperation

(VOV) - Vietnamese ambassador to Sweden Tran Van Hinh has highlighted prospects for Vietnam-Sweden friendship and celebrations for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

In a recent media interview, ambassador Hinh affirmed that both nations hold huge potential for further stepping up bilateral cooperation in strong areas such as healthcare, education, science-technology, clean energy and response to climate change.

Sweden was the first industrialized country to set up diplomatic relations with Vietnam, and bilateral ties have since grown steadily

He said he hopes that with joint efforts, the ties of friendship and cooperation will grow and flourish across a variety of fields, practically benefiting the two peoples, especially the Vietnamese and Swedish business communities.

From now until later this year, the embassy will launch a host of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties and strengthen cooperative relations by introducing culture, tourism, calling for investment and promoting trade in some major Swedish cities which have maintained their close-knit relationships with the Vietnamese community.

Regarding the situation of the Vietnamese community in Sweden, the Vietnamese diplomat said despite still facing difficulties, the community of 15,000 Vietnamese people has well integrated into the resident country and always turns their hearts to the homeland demonstrated by their efforts to reinforce solidarity and preserve cultural identities.
