Free operations have been given to 100 poor children with harelips and cleft palates in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring provinces.
This is part of a programme entitled "For children smile 2006" jointly sponsored by the HCM City Department of Culture and Information and the National Ordonto-Maxillo-Facial hospital.

Prudential Vietnam contributed VND350 million to the VND500-million programme.

As many as 70 children with congenital deformities in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang have received free surgery with a total cost of VND140 million.
