Bird flu has hit 13 cities and provinces with new outbreaks recorded in the central Quang Nam province, according to the Veterinary Department on June 1.
Nearly 370 out of 400 unvaccinated ducks were found dead at a farm in Duy Vinh commune, Duy Xuyen district.
Local authorities and relevant agencies are making every effort to prevent the spread of bird flu infection. The department said, new outbreaks are still occurring in the previously infected infected provinces.
Since the beginning of May, bird flu has recurred in 13 provinces including Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Son La, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Ha Nam and Quang Nam.
