Hello Kitty Run joins HCM City’s growing race schedule

Just when you thought Hello Kitty had covered pretty much every kind of product, ranging from stationery to hairdryers to office furniture, the cute pink and white emblem of childhood (and, for many, adulthood too) now has its own race.

Sanrio, the company which owns Hello Kitty, has made a fortune with this globally recognized character, and has set up Hello Kitty Runs in Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan, among other destinations.

The events aim to be inclusive for running enthusiasts and fans of Hello Kitty alike, with the focus being more on enjoyment than competition.

“The most different thing is that Hello Kitty’s fan will have chance to meet Hello Kitty in Vietnam for real, (as) we will have a mascot from Sanrio to come to Vietnam to meet and greet with fans,” said event organizer Nguyen Thuy Linh.

In the fun carnival ambience, fans can enjoy the photo corner, game kiosk, merchandise and mini game booths where Hello Kitty-themed games await. This inaugural event will take place on Nov. 27 at The Crescent Mall in District 7.

The fun run is suitable for participants of all ages and each runner will receive exclusive edition Hello Kitty race tee, race bib and knapsack.
