Badminton: Cao Cuong reaches world top five
(VOV) - Young Vietnamese badminton player Pham Cao Cuong has secured 5th place in the latest World Badminton Federation (WBF) rankings.
Cuong climbed 4 notches on last year’s standings.
Entering the quarterfinal of the Asian Junior Badminton Championships helped Cuong gain nearly 3,000 points.
This is the highest position a young Vietnamese badminton player has ever reached in BWF rankings.
As scheduled, Cuong will now go on to attend two major tournaments – World Junior Badminton Championships in Malaysia and Indonesia Opened Tournament. This will provide an excellent opportunity for the young player to gain experience, improve his technique and raise his position.
