Malaysia win U21 Football Champs
Malaysia triumphed at Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper International Under-U21 Football Championships at Pleiku Stadium in the Central Highland province of Gia Lai on October 21.
They defeated hosts Vietnam 1-0 in the final match with the only goal scored by Bakri in the 52nd minute.
Vietnam, under great support from home fans, failed to find the net despite a number of opportunities.
The winners were awarded a total cash prize of U$12,000.
In the third-place playoff match, Australia’s Sydney FC outperformed Thailand 2-1.
