HCM City opens fourth emergency aid station

HCM City’s fourth satellite 115 emergency aid station opened at Thu Duc District Hospital on June 7 to provide timely medical aid in traffic accidents and other emergencies.

The city is geographically large with an area of 2,056sq.km and has a population of 10 million, including migrants, according to the city Department of Health.

With traffic jams a frequent occurrence, especially during peak hours, the original emergency aid centre in District 10 was found to be inadequate, it said.

The other three are at hospitals in Districts 1, Binh Tan and Cu Chi with their headquarters in District 10.

These stations co-operate with the city’s general and specialised hospitals to treat patients, according to Tang Chi Thuong, the department’s deputy head.

This year the department plans to open four more stations at hospitals in Districts 2, 7, Binh Chanh and Binh Tan.

It also has a “Red Alert" between hospitals to improve co-ordination and assistance from leading hospitals.
