Quang Binh’s exotic cave chosen for film Peter Pan
(VOV) - The central province of Quang Binh has much opportunity to cooperate with international film production companies, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung told a recent tourism promotion workshop in Hanoi.
Last year, a team from US-based Warner Bros, has surveyed a cave at Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh province to select scenes for the film Peter Pan.
UNESCO's World Heritage Site of Phong Nha-Ke Bang, is situated in a 2,000sq.km limestone zone, some 500km south of Ha Noi. It is well-known for its cave and grotto systems, comprising more than 300 caves with a total length of over 70km including Sơn Đoòng and Én (Swallow caves).
According to provincial leaders, this is a good opportunity for the province to attract visitors and elevate its image in the world.
Last year, the province received 2.8 million visitors, a doubled figure against 2013. Among them, foreign arrivals saw a strong growth rate of nearly 27%.
