The Vietnamese women footballers trounced Malaysian rivals 9-0 in Yangon, Myanmar on September 9 to top group A of the Southeast Asian Women’s Football Championship 2007 with a total of six points.

In the first half of the match, Vietnam footballers scored five goals, of which three were made by Do Thi Ngoc Cham. Despite heavy rain, they continued to penetrate Malaysia’s net four times in the second half.

In a group A match earlier at the same place, Indonesia defeated the Philippines 3-2 after the latter had first scored two successive goals.

On the evening of September 10, Myanmar will play Thailand while Laos will meet Singapore in the final matches of group B.
