Senior official speaks to voters in Can Tho city

Party Politburo member Le Hong Anh, National Assembly deputy representing Can Tho city, on December 2 met voters in the city’s Phong Dien district to hear their opinions on the recently-ended sixth session of the 13th National Assembly.

Local voters highly valued the outcome of the session through which the legislature adopted many important resolutions and laws, especially the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution and the revised Land Law.

They asked the Party, State and National Assembly to work out measures to help local farmers seek rice consumption markets and build irrigation and transport systems in line with a programme on building a new style of rural areas.

They also appealed for a free tuition policy for secondary school students and solutions to the overloaded children’s hospital in the city, along with the State’s consideration for the price of electricity and land in rural areas.

Welcoming the sincere and straightforward opinions of local voters, Anh, who is also permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Secretariat, clarified some issues of their interest and briefed them on the nation’s socio-economic development as well as the defence and security situation in the region and the world.

He asked the municipal National Assembly deputies and authorities to gather all local voters’ petitions to submit to the Party and legislative body in order to promptly deal with these issues in the upcoming sessions.
