COVID-19: 32nd fatality recorded on afternoon of August 29

VOV.VN - An elderly patient who had been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus passed away in the central city of Da Nang on the afternoon of August 29, bringing the country’s total novel coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll to 32.

The 67-year-old female patient had been a resident of Lien Chieu district in Da Nang, the country’s largest COVID-19 outbreak hotspot.

Her death comes after a prolonged period of suffering from a number of severe illnesses, such as type 2 diabetes, chronic renal failure, and a stroke.

The death of the women in Da Nang comes after a 28 year-old resident from the central province of Quang Nam also passed away on the morning of the same day. His death was can be attributed to pneumonia caused by complications relating to COVID-19, in addition to septic shock and irreversible multi-organ failure occurring in a patient suffering from acute leukemia and myelosuppression.
