Weather forecasting to be upgraded next year

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s weather forecasting will be modernized next year in order to stay abreast with developed countries’ level.

Le Hong Phong made the remark at a December 29 conference to review the work in 2017 and outline orientations for 2018. 

Phong said next year, weather forecasts will give more details relating to cities and wards throughout Vietnam, with close tracking and timely warnings on dangerous weather phenomena. 

The Hydrometeorology Development Strategy to 2020 will also be carried out with a focus on modernizing and automating monitoring measurement, developing monitoring networks, and increasing data resources, he added.
