PM receives new ambassadors

(VOV) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on November 28 received Mongolian ambassador Dorj Enkhbat and Nigerian ambassador Mazi Matthias Ojih Okafor, who have both recently assumed their roles in Vietnam.

At a reception for Mongolian Ambassador Dorj Enkhbat, Dung stressed that Vietnam and Mongolia have maintained a long standing traditional friendship and the two peoples have always supported each other in national construction and development.

Vietnam attaches great importance to promoting cooperation with Mongolia and is willing to help the country strengthen ties with other ASEAN member countries, Dung said.

The Government leader suggested the two countries’ Inter-Governmental Committee hold a meeting to increase cooperation in economics, labour, education and training.

Dorj Enkhbat said the Mongolian Government and people hope to solidify traditional relationship between the two countries, adding that during his term in Vietnam, he will do his utmost to boost cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, especially in economics and trade.

Meeting with Nigerian Ambassador Mazi Matthias Ojih Okafor, Dung stressed that Vietnam places importance on cooperation with Nigeria in various fields for mutual benefit.

He said the two countries should strengthen the exchange of delegations and mutual understanding, sign agreements on investment protection and double taxation avoidance and strengthen cooperation in the two countries’ fields of strength such as agriculture, oil and gas, and information technology.

The Nigerian diplomat hailed Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements, emphasizing that during his term he will make every effort to foster bilateral cooperation, especially in agriculture, energy, mining and information technology.

PM Dung said he hopes the two ambassadors will work closely with relevant Vietnamese ministries and agencies to improve bilateral relations.
