Hanoi, HCM City to host Finger-Style Guitar Festival

An International Finger-Style Guitar Festival will be held at the Youth Theater in Hanoi and the HCMC Conservatory of Music on July 18 and 19 respectively.

The annual event has been in place in Asia since 2010 with famous finger-style guitarists from Vietnam and other countries attending.

There will be a series of finger-style guitar performances by local and international artists including Justin King from the US, Jacques Stotzem from Belgium, Agustin Amigo from Germany, Akihiro Tanaka from Japan, and Duy Phong from Vietnam.

Finger-style guitar is a technique of playing the guitar by plucking the strings directly with the fingertips, fingernails, or picks attached to fingers.

The festival will take place at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18 in Hanoi at the Youth Theater, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street, and at the same time on Wednesday, July 19 at the HCMC Conservatory of Music, 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1.

To book tickets, spectators should visit ticketbox.vn. Ticket prices range from VND500,000 to VND1.2 million per person. Children under six will not be allowed to attend the event.
