Da Nang lures tourists on New Year 2018 holiday with diverse activities

The central city of Da Nang will hold diverse tourism activities to attract visitors for the New Year 2018 holiday.

Along with a Winter Festival in Ba Na Hills tourist site, Da Nang Museum will hold an event to welcome the first visitor of 2018 on January 1.

In Ngu Hanh Son tourist site, the management board will present gifts to the first tourist of the year. Meanwhile, other destinations across the city will be decorated to welcome visitors, while launching promotion programmes.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, the city expects nearly 143,000 tourists for the New Year 2018 holiday, up 17.9% over the same time last year, including 81,530 foreign visitors, a rise of 16.2% year on year.

In the Christmas and New Year 2018 holiday this year, several new air routes were launched to connect the city and Incheon, Busan and Daegu cities of the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong (China) and Osaka in Japan.

The department will host a ceremony to welcome the first flight of 2018 at Da Nang International Airport.

In the Christmas and New Year 2018 holiday this year, four tourist ships are scheduled to dock in Cat Tien Sa port of Da Nang. The department will also welcome the first cruise visiting the city on New Year’s Day.
