Vietnam, Russia trade events set for Dec 14-16

(VOV) - The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on December 10 held a press conference in Hanoi to announce details for two upcoming trade events – Expo Russia-Vietnam and the Vietnam-Russia Business Forum.

“Both events will stage simultaneously on December 14-16,” said President David Vartanov, chairman of the organizing committee.

President Vartanov said Expo Russia-Vietnam will showcase the latest technological advances in the fields of energy, manufacturing, transport and telecommunications to name only a few.

He estimated that roughly 120 Russian companies would participate and showcase exhibitions at the event.

According to Chief Representative of the Russian Trade Office in Vietnam Maxim Golikov, Russian exhibitions will feature the latest technologies for the oil, mining, energy and hi-tech fields.

‘We will also be actively searching for trading and cooperation partners in these fields so we encourage anyone with an interest to plan on attending both events,” said Golikov.

Deputy Head Nguyen Tuan Hai of the VCCI International Relations Department in turn told reporters the Vietnam-Russia Business Forum aims to set a record in connecting the two nations' businesses.

Additionally, Hai said a large number of seminars, workshops and other events are on the agenda that will explain in detail and provide the latest updates for those attending on the status of the Vietnam, Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) free trade agreement.
