Day 7 update: Asian Physics Olympiad in Russia
VOV.VN - Day 7 of the Asian Physics Olympiad in Yakutsk, a Russian port city on the Lena River in east Siberia at which roughly 250 schoolchildren from 20 countries in Asia and Oceania are competing, was Friday May 5.
They believe that such a tough competition will help prepare any student to easily study at any specialized university around the globe.
The Asian Physics Olympiad consists of two stages. Schoolchildren answer theoretical questions during the first stage, whereas the second stage is devoted to practice. Phase one was completed on May 5 and it now moves into the second stage.
Winners will be announced within a week.
As of now, four Vietnamese have won medals. Dinh Anh Dung from the Hanoi-Amsterdam School won a gold medal while a silver medal was awarded to each Nguyen The Quynh from Quang Binh, Ta Ba Dung from Hanoi and Tran Huu Binh Minh from Nghe An.
The competition in Yakutsk is in preparation for the International Intellectual Asian Youth Games set to take place in Yakutsk next year at which more than 1.5 thousand students from around the globe will participate.
