The German Solidaritactsdients International Organisation (SODI) will rally further support for mine clearing activities in central Quang Tri province, said Hans-Juergen Ebert, SODI Managing Director.

At a recent meeting with Quang Tri provincial People's Committee Chairman Le Huu Phuc, Ebert said his organisation will ask weapon producers to bear responsibility for serious consequences that they indirectly brought about for the Vietnamese people.

He also emphasized the importance and necessity of SODI's activities in Quang Tri, saying that the organisation has been strengthening the mutual understanding between Vietnam and Germany.

For his part, Chairman Phuc expressed thanks for Germany’s assistance to Quang Tri to overcome war consequences. He expressed his hope that the province will continue receiving more assistance in removing mines and building resettlement areas for the war victims.
