At the ministry’s regular press conference, Hang said the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar has regularly updated relevant developments in the country and assured that the situation of Vietnamese there is stable and hasn’t had any major changes.

The embassy is keeping close contact with companies sending Vietnamese workers to Qatar and the workers’ liaison board in the country to update the situation of Qatar to the Vietnamese community there. It has also advised the citizens to work and live as normal and asked them to maintain communication with the embassy to receive timely assistance when needed.

The Foreign Ministry is also coordinating closely with domestic agencies to provide citizen protection measures when necessary, the spokesperson said.

Regarding the trial of Doan Thi Huong, a suspect in the death of a Democratic People’s Republic of Korean citizen, and the preparation for her fourth trial, Hang quoted the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia as saying that Huong is in stable physical and spiritual condition.

She added the Foreign Ministry is working closely with domestic relevant agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, the Vietnam Bar Federation, and Malaysian lawyers to protect Huong’s interests as good as possible.

In the case of Pham Minh Hoang who was stripped off the Vietnamese nationality, Hang said Pham Minh Hoang violated law and national security. The stripping of nationality was made in line with regulations of Vietnamese law. Authorised agencies of Vietnam notified Hoang and the French Embassy in Hanoi of this issue.
