Korean music star welcomed in Vietnam

(VOV) -Baek Ji Young, a famous South Korean pop ballad singer, has arrived in Vietnam to participate in a Vietnamese music contest entitled “Lotte VK Pop Super Star”.

Young along with Vietnamese artists – singer Phuong Thanh and dancer John Huy Tran will serve on the jury for the contest taking palace from February 22-28.

“I want to find Asian music talent in Vietnam,” said Baek Ji Young, affirming that she would help local contestants make full use of their advantages.

Starting her career in 1999, Baek Ji Young went on to become a legendary pop ballad singer with the release of a number of highly acclaimed albums including - “Sorrow, Smile, Smile Again, I Won't Love, the Sixth Miracle, I Only Need One Love, Sensibility, and Like Being Hit by a Bullet.

She is also highly acclaimed for soundtracks for TV dramas which have proven to be very popular, including  Bad Person (in Hwang Jin Yi movie), Don't Forget (in Iris), That Woman (in Secret Garden),  Again, I Love You Today (in Princess Man), Spring rain (in Gu family book), and, most recently, Crying (in Good Doctor).

She was selected a jury member of “The Voice” in Korean version. In Vietnam, Baek will guide contestants in “Lotte VK Pop Super Star” that will be officially broadcast on VTV3 channel at 8pm every Saturday from March 15.
