VLFA marks Lao National Day in HCM City
(VOV) - Chairman Phan Xuan Bien of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association (VLFA) congratulated the people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of their National Day (December 2).
At a gathering in honour of the occasion on December 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman Bien also poignantly stated relations between the two nations have never been stronger.
“We are engaged on a vast array of issues related to health, environment, energy, and education, and our cooperation has never been stronger,” said Bien and we will, as we always have, stand side by side our friend and neighbour.
Speaking to the hundreds gathered at the event, Bien spoke most highly about education cooperation, noting more than 9,300 Lao students are now pursuing advanced studies in Vietnam.
