US State Department official welcomed in Hanoi
(VOV) -On March 7 Deputy Defence Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh received US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Space and Defense Policy Frank A. Rose on a working visit to Vietnam.
Vinh hailed the growing comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US in recent times, expressing his wish that both sides will maximize efforts to effectively implement cooperation agreements based on the 2011 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation.
The major focus of closer cooperation should be on bomb and land mind deactivation, dealing with the consequences of war, exchanges between naval forces and the coast guard and the search for US personnel missing in action (MIA), Vinh added.
