Foreign leaders congratulate newly-elected President

Many foreign leaders have sent congratulatory messages to newly-elected President Tran Dai Quang.

On April 2, President Tran Dai Quang was sworn into office 
The foreign leaders included Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kim Young Nam.

On the occasion, Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam, and King of Sweden Carl Gustaf also cabled letters of congratulations to the President.

In the letters, foreign leaders expressed their strong beliefs that cooperative and friendly relations among Vietnam and their respective countries will continue to prosper. 

Earlier, the leaders of Laos, China and Russia also sent congratulatory letters to the President.

On April 2, new President Tran Dai Quang was sworn into office after 91.5 percent of the total National Assembly (NA) deputies elected him to the position by secret ballot, during the ongoing 11th session of the 13th National Assembly.
