Vietnamese, Japanese PMs hold telephone conversation

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made a telephone call to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on December 22, during which they highlighted exchanges of high-ranking leaders, including the first ever State visit to Vietnam by the Japanese Emperor and Empress and the trips made by both PMs.

They expressed delight in the vigorous growth of bilateral ties in all sectors, particularly high-level exchanges and concurred to bolster cooperation among ministries and sectors and realize signed agreements to deepen the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership.

The two leaders discussed regional and global issues of shared concern. Prime Minister Abe congratulated Vietnam’s successful hosting of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang in November.

Abe thanked his Vietnamese counterpart for warm reception when he was in Hoi An as part of his latest Vietnamese visit to attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in November in Da Nang and glowingly spoke of Vietnam’s role at the event.

Prime Minister Phuc agreed with Mr Abe that Vietnam and Japan will work closely toward the signing of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
