A high-level delegation of the Vietnam National Assembly, led by its Vice Chairman Truong Quang Duoc, has concluded their working visits to Greece, Italy and Switzerland, which began on May 27.

Vice Chairman Duoc met with President of the Swiss National Council (Upper House) C. Egerszegi Obrist on June 8. Host and guest praised the effective cooperation in various areas between Vietnam and Switzerland and expressed their hope that the two legislative bodies will further exchange parliament members as well as soon establishing a friendship parliamentarians group.

 

Earlier, Mr Duoc had a meeting with Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Carlo Leoni, who spoke highly of Vietnam’s major achievements in the industrialization and modernization process, and said that the Italian parliament will boost the existing relations with the Vietnam National Assembly, as well as supporting the country's participation in international forums.

 

For his part, Mr Duoc affirmed that the Vietnamese leaders have always valued and wished to develop bilateral relations on a sustainable basis.

 

The Vietnamese legislator also had working sessions with Head of the Italy Chamber of Deputies G. Albonetti and President of the House’s External Relations Committee Umberto Ranieri.

 

During their visit to the Greek Capital City of Athens, the Vietnam NA delegation held a working session with Skrebas K. Theodoros, Head of the General Directorate of International Relations and Communication of the Greek Parliament, and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Greece.
