Party’s 83rd anniversary celebrated in Sri Lanka

(VOV) -The Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka has held a ceremony to mark the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s 83rd anniversary (February 3).

In his speech Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh sincerely thanked Sri Lankan leaders and people for constantly supporting the Vietnamese party and people in their struggles for national independence and socialism construction.

He believed that the traditional friendship between the two countries will be further strengthened.

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Raja Collure, affirmed that the CPV’s achievements in the past 83 years are not only significant for the Vietnamese people but also far-reaching worldwide.

He praised the late President Ho Chi Minh’s contributions to founding the CPV, leading the Vietnamese revolution to the final victory and establishing the first agricultural-industrial country in the Southeastern region.
