Vietnam Art Kite Festival 2015 in Vung Tau

(VOV) - Vietnam Art Kite Festival 2015 is held in the southern coastal city of Vung Tau on February 28 and March 1, attracting a large number of visitors and local residents. 

The two-day festival brought together nearly 190 leading kite artists from 15 clubs nationwide. Deputy Director of Ba Ria Vung Tau province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Thanh Sang said the event offered a good opportunity for kite artists to share experience and strengthen solidarity.

After the event, the department will select artists and clubs with unique kites to attend the international kite festival which is scheduled for April 2015.

After the opening ceremony, a special performance was given involving nearly 230 kites. Among them was an 81-metre long kite in the shape of a giant copperhead. Members of kite clubs and tourists appreciated the organization of the festival and expressed their wish that the city will hold the event regularly to help kite lovers get closer to their favorite form of arts.
