Vietnam, Czech Republic strengthen all-round cooperation

(VOV) - President Truong Tan Sang on October 23 hosted a welcoming reception for visiting Czech Republic Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomir Zaoralek and his entourage in Hanoi at the Presidential Palace.

On the occasion, President Sang expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the Central European nation’s invaluable support during the struggle for liberation, saying that the Vietnamese people will always be eternally grateful.

Regarding the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EUVFTA), Sang suggested that the two sides’ trade ministers should continue to scrutinize and fine tune the agreement to each other’s satisfaction. 

Regarding the East Sea issue, the President affirmed Vietnam’s resilient stance and determination to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity by peaceful means in accordance with international law.

Minister Lubomir Zaoralek in turn conveyed his delight to return to Vietnam for another visit and thanked President Sang for the warm reception.

Zaoralek said there are currently more than 100,000 Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) residing in the Czech Republic and he affirmed they have positively contributed to the nation’s socio-economic development.

The economic outlook for both nations is promising he said, adding that the two sides should seize the opportunity to strengthen cooperation on a vast array of fronts to achieve long term prosperity for the citizens of their respective countries.
