Police in Ho Chi Minh City have arrested three Vietnamese-Australians for allegedly trafficking 1.8 kg of heroin. The three were arrested at Tan Son Nhat international airport on July 8. Police also confiscated 10,000 Australian dollars and six mobile telephones.

Earlier, police had arrested six accused members of a large drug trafficking ring in Tan Binh precinct, HCM City, seizing 905 tablets of ecstasy, four bags of crystal methamphetamine (ice) and 500g of amphetamine powder.

According to initial investigations, the ring has provided amphetamines to drug users at bars, clubs and hotels in HCM City for many years.
