Vice President Truong My Hoa called for promoting gender equality between men and women and raising women’s role and position in all aspects of life, while addressing the 16th Global Summit of Women in Cairo, Egypt, on June 10.

She stressed that the summit is a typical example of the efforts to raise women’s position in the society. Ms Hoa, who is also honorary co-chairwoman of the summit, spoke highly of Vietnam’s great socio-economic achievements in the recent past, including the significant contributions to national development by Vietnamese women.

Her speech received thunderous applause of more than 1,000 delegates from 85 countries in the world attending the summit entitled “Redefining Global Leadership".


On June 11, Vice President Truong My Hoa visited Suye, one of the key economic provinces in northern Egypt.
