A ground-breaking ceremony for Hue Central Hospital was held in the central province of Thua Thien Hue on September 2.

The 300-bed hospital, which is being built on a site of 20,000 square metres, has a total investment of nearly VND200 billion sourced from the state budget (30 percent) and various loans. It will include pediatric, obstetric, aesthetic and surgical departments.

Once completed in 2012, the hospital will meet the province’s demand for high-tech medical check-ups and treatments for both domestic and international patients.

Later the same day, the tumour centre, part of Hue Central Hospital put its VND20 billion chemo-therapy equipment into use.

This is the first chemo-therapy treatment available in the central and central highland region and will help to treat cancer patients.
