The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the W.P Schmitz-Stiftung Organisation have donated more than 348,000 EUR to help build bridges in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre.

Under the 2007-2008 project, 137 bridges in 103 communes of seven districts will be constructed by the Ben Tre Association of Science and Technology for Bridge and Road.

Ben Tre province has recently put into use 27 bridges and six roads sponsored by Vo Thi Bon, an overseas Vietnamese in the US.

The 71-year-old woman has donated a total of VND829 million to help build bridges, roads and charitable houses for her countrymen.
