Hanoians admire new swans gracing Hoan Kiem Lake
VOV.VN - The capital city of Hanoi has introduced seven black swans and five mute swans to Hoan Kiem Lake on a pilot basis.
The twelve swans have been released by the Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Limited Company on a pilot basis. |
The black and mute swans were imported from Belgium. |
Representatives from Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Limited Company say the project to introduce swans at Hoan Kiem Lake has received support from the experts of Vietnam’s Society for Biology. |
Professor Nguyen Lan Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Society for Biology says the release of swans at Hoan Kiem lake will help to beautify the capital city, and will not adversely affect the ecological environment. |
Belgian swans can stand both cold and hot weather and it is not complicated to take care of them, says Mr Dung. Though he expresses concern that thieves might think of stealing the beautiful swans. |
