Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed wishes that the Vietnamese sports delegation will compete in a noble and honest sprit to gain the highest achievements, actively contributing to promoting solidarity and friendship among countries in the region.  

He made the statement while visiting the SEA Games Athletes Village to send his best regards to the Vietnamese sports delegation in Vientiane on December 9.

The PM highlighted efforts made by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in general and sports sector in particular in organizing the third Indoor Games successfully and thoroughly preparing for the 25th SEA Games. He stated that sports has not only contributed to developing Vietnamese people comprehensively but also to strengthening solidarity, and friendship with other nations in the world.

PM Dung expressed hope that the Vietnamese sports delegation will obey the laws of the host country, the regulations set by the organizing board as well as striving to gain the highest achievements in all the respective competitions.

Tran Van Quynh, head of the Vietnamese SEA Games delegation affirmed that more than 650 members of the delegation will compete in all events during the games. All athletes have fully prepared for competitions and are determined to do their best to gain the highest scores in the most noble, honest, and humble spirit of friendship.

This evening, PM Dung and his wife will attend an opening ceremony of the 25th SEA Games in Vientiane.
