Vietnamese and Norwegian legal experts shared experiences in criminology and criminal law at a seminar held in Hanoi on February 5.

They discussed four major issues relating to the philosophy of punishment, juvenile law, criminal law and lawyers' role in addition to the independence of the judiciary apparatus.

Addressing the seminar, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Norway in Hanoi, Norwegian Ambassador Kjell Storlokken said that over the past two decades, Vietnam has made various achievements in economic development and poverty reduction and the country's public administration has been efficiently improved.

The seminar aims to assist Vietnam in implementing public administration reforms and also to strengthen human rights dialogues and cooperation between the two countries, he added.
