Customs officials at Tan Son Nhat International Airport have found 1.62kg of methamphetamine hidden in a backpack of Vietnamese passenger Ngo Thi Phuong Thao.
Thao (born in 1981) was scheduled to board flight AK883 from Ho Chi Minh City to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Thao said she had been asked by another woman on the same flight to Malaysia to carry the backpack for her.
