After the 4th round of the 39th World Chess Championship taking place in Khanty Mansiysk, Russia, on September 24, Vietnamese men’s players scored 3,5-0,5 against Estonia, which was seeded 48th in the tournament, and maintained its place in the leading group.
The men’s team, including Le Quang Liem, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Nguyen Anh Dung and Nguyen Duc Hoa, is now in the leading group with teams from Russia, Armenia, Gruzia, China and Hungary.
However, the Vietnamese women were defeated by the Czech Republic with a score of 1,5-2,5.
The women’s team was placed in the middle of the score-board with two wins and two losses.
