More than US$200,000 donated to health project in central region

(VOV) - Members of the trans-Vietnamese journey named The Great Honda 67 Ride have handed over a sum of US$219,156 to the East Meets West Foundation to help build a maternal and newborn healthcare centre in the central region.

The money was raised by a group of New Zealand entrepreneurs named David, John, Paul and Richard Seton during their trans-Vietnamese motorbike journey from Hanoi through the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the southern hub from April 10 to May 1.

Tom Low, Chief Financial Officer from the East Meets West said the money will be used to buy essential medical equipment and train health workers at hospitals, and medical stations in the districts of Phu Ninh and Phuoc Son in the central province of Quang Nam.

David Seton, President of Besra Group announced that there will be more journeys to raise funds for community healthcare projects in Vietnam.
