The flag and flame of the Asian Indoor Games have been handed over to Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee and Head of the Organizing Board of the Third Asian Indoor Games to be held in Hanoi in 2009.
Hanoi has prepared 10 venues for competitions and has upgraded many competition houses, such as Quan Ngua, Soc Son, Trinh Hoai Duc, Cau Giay, Gia Lam, and Ha Tay. A well-equipped indoor sport palace is expected to open its doors to athletes on September 2, 2009.
The third AI Games will open in Hanoi on November 2, 2009, with the participation of athletes from 45 countries and territories.
Some sports competitions will be held in some other cities and provinces: Hai Phong, HCM City, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, and Quang Ninh.
