From now until 2011, Viettel will help install facilities and supply free Internet services to more than 39,000 kindergartens and schools across the country at an estimated cost of VND300 billion.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and Viettel launched an “Education network” programme in Hanoi on September 25 to provide broadband Internet access to education institutions and schools.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thien Nhan said that implementing “educational network” programme will give education institutions and schools more chances to access the Internet.

According to an agreement signed with MoET, Viettel will help the educational sector install broadband network at schools in remote, mountainous and island areas. Every year, Viettel spends part of its budget to provide scholarships to poor students.
