A “Green house for community activities” was put into operation in hamlet 2, Long Thoi commune, Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City on May 12.
Covering an area of 95 sq.m, the VND100 million house includes a ground floor, an upper storey and a small library constructed from environmentally friendly materials.

The house was jointly constructed by cement company Holcim Vietnam (HVL), Bouygues Batiment International (BBI) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture.

According to Philippe Richart, Director of HVL, the project is expected to be suitable for poor localities, thanks to its low construction cost.

He also announced that a range of other green housing projects will be also set up in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces of Kien Giang and Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

On the occasion, HVL also offered 200 disadvantaged families in the locality one ton of rice worth VND40 million.
