Japan seeks cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese localities

(VOV) - Politburo member and Chairman of the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Parliamentary Group To Huy Rua, received the Governor of Saitama Prefecture of Japan, Kiyoshi Uedaon October 27. 

Rua thanked Japan for providing official development assistance (ODA) loans to Vietnam, saying that bilateral ties between the two countries are growing considerably.

He said he hopes to receive more assistance from Japan in terms of infrastructure construction and administrative procedure reform and suggested Saitama prefecture should beef up stronger cooperation with Vietnamese localities. 

Kiyoshi Ueda, in turn, commended Vietnam’s improved investment environment, noting 62 businesses from his prefecture have operated projects in the country.

He said Saitama will encourage more investment in the Southeast Asian nation, primarily in the areas of machinery manufacturing, recycling and construction.
