The September consumer price index (CPI) in Hanoi has ended up by 0.96 percent month on month with educational products topping the list at 7.17 percent, reported the Hanoi Statistics Office.
This is because of an increase in tuition fees at private schools, vocational colleges and universities during the 2010-2011 school year.
However, post and telecommunication services remained stable, but most other groups of products witnessed a slight increase of 1 percent in price.
Experts from the Hanoi Statistics Office have forecast a CPI growth of 8.63 percent for the whole year.
Gold prices rose by 3.57 percent while the US dollar climbed by 1.35 percent in value.
