Lao Party General Secretary and President Choummaly Sayasone received a delegation of Vietnamese former voluntary soldiers and experts who had fought on the battlefields in Laos in Vientiane on July 24.

The Lao leader highlighted the Vietnam-Laos special relationship, which was built by generations of soldiers and the people of both countries, describing it as a precious asset of the two nations.

The Lao leader expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State, army and people for their valuable support to Laos in the past struggle for national liberation and in the present process of national construction.


He also stated that the Lao Party, State and people will work hard to maintain and uphold bilateral ties.


The Vietnamese delegation will visit their old companions in arms and the former battle fields during their Laos visit from July 24-31.
