VFF Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy said potential candidates for the position are Pham Ngoc Vien, VFF Vice Chairman, Duong Nghiep Khoi, VFF Deputy General Secretary, Ngo Le Bang, Technical Director of the Thai Son Nam Futsal Club and Phan Anh Tu, General Secretary of the Hanoi Football Federation.

However, Vien and Tu are unlike to accept the offer as they are now busy with their current jobs while Bang is not considered the best choice.

As the 6^th VFF’s term ends next year, the organisation wants to select a caretaker for this post until an official general secretary will be selected in the new VFF congress. Sources say Khoi is the most suitable candidate for this post at the moment.

Besides, Duong Vu Lam, Head of the VFF’s Referee Committee, is also considered to be a good candidate.

VFF will violate FIFA regulations if they cannot choose a new General Secretary after one month.
