Seychelles helps Hanoi build gasification waste treatment plant

Seychelles wants to cooperate with Hanoi in a project to develop plasma gasification waste treatment models, said Nico Barito, Assistant to President of the Republic of Seychelles.

During a working session with Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung on December 27 in Hanoi, Barito said Seychelles will provide Hanoi with capital and technology to implement the project.

He expressed his hope that the two sides will sign a memorandum of understanding on establishing a technical group to study feasibility and carry out the project.

Energy produced by the plant will be sold to Vietnamese electricity companies, he noted, adding that by applying the technology, waste can be also used to produce bricks.

For his part, Chung lauded the gasification technology recommended by Barito, and reaffirmed Hanoi’s urgent demand for waste treatment.

He expressed his belief that the technology can be expanded across Hanoi and to other localities nationwide.
