The Vietnam Committee for Physical Training and Sports opened the 2008 National Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling tournament at Thai Nguyen sports hall on September 23.
The tournament drew the participation of 155 athletes from 15 teams nationwide. The competitors will take part in 9 categories of weight division for men and 7 categories for women.
Twenty-five sets of medals will be delivered to winners. Also, the organizing board will offer awards for the most excellent teams in the tournament.
The National Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling tournament is aimed at choosing the best athletes for the national team in preparation for 25th SEA Games to be held in Laos in December 2009.
